Spread the Word!
We receive a lot of requests from children, who do papers or presentations on the baiji or finless porpoise in school. If you search in the internet, you also will find ambitious pupils, who already did!
If you want to share your outcomes with other children and visitors of our homepage, feel free to send your papers, presentations or else to us and we will check it and publish it on our homepage!
Please send your artwork, papers or presentations to

FINLESS PORPOISE - POSTCARD CONTEST (CLOSED)
![]() the finless porpoise - inspiring, cute and worth to protect |
ATTENTION: The Contest is closed! The winner will be published soon!
First step in the contest is for you to find out as much as you can about whales, especially those in danger of extinction. Read books in your library, visit websites, and talk with your teachers about whales, rivers, and how we can keep water healthy for fish, wildlife, and for ourselves. All creatures depend on water for life and the loss of animals like the Finless Porpoise is a sign that our planet’s water is in trouble.
The next step is to enter our
Finless Porpoise Contest!
Contest Rules:
Design a postcard, front and back, to call attention in some way to the need to protect the Finless Porpoise. Your card should measure no larger than 12.5 x 17.5 cm.
One side of the card needs to be an illustration showing how you would like to see a Finless Porpoise or Porpoises as part of the design on a China Airline jet plane. Imagine the little porpoise flying on the plane the way other images are used on airplanes such as the koala on Quanta or birds on Japan Airlines.
The other side of the card should include a note from you, telling China Airlines why they should consider using the illustration of a Finless Porpoise on their planes.
You must also design a postage stamp and place your stamp on the card as if to mail it to the airlines.
Send your postcards to:
Ron Hirschi
PO Box 899
Hadlock, Washington 98339
USA
along with your name and address.
Note to Teachers, daycare centers, and other groups:
You may gather many entries together and send them along, making sure to include a return address for possible prize notification. Prizes will be awarded to top entries and all postcards will be forwarded to China Airlines in an attempt to encourage them to place the Finless Porpoise on their passenger jets.
All entries must be received by February 1st 2008!
